Meet the highly qualified and caring reception staff at St David Veterinary Centre.
Leanne became the surgery’s practice manager in 2015 having joined the surgery in 2008. Leanne splits her time between both surgeries. Whilst already having two dogs there is always the risk of many more as she struggles not to take home every new puppy that visits the surgery.
Rhian, a receptionist, has worked in the surgery since 2006. She completed a HNC in Animal Studies in 2009. Rhian has an avid interest in marine life, taking the opportunity, whenever she can, to explore her interest when travelling.
Pam joined the surgery in 2011 as a receptionist. When she’s not at work she’s at home with her two sons, father and 3 dogs. She loves cooking and baking and will often be found picking vegetables and herbs from her garden ready to experiment. Whilst she has an affection for all the visiting pets she, like many, has a real weakness for puppies.
Caroline joined, as a receptionist, in May 2015. She works full time for a local University but works at the surgery in her spare time. Caroline has two dogs of her own. When she’s not working Caroline like’s to take part in running events for charity; in 2015 she’s running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Cardiff Dog’s Home.
Brad, born and bred in Zimbabwe, has been at the practice since 2005. An ex-power lifter with Welsh Masters honours and a ranked British Championship finish Brad considers himself to be the ‘practice engine’. Despite his success with weights Brad has now adopted an administrative role in the surgery and has even been seen on occasion ‘multi tasking’.
Rita joined the surgery in 2013 as a part time receptionist. Having spent her working life in an office she loves her time on reception and wonders how she’d worked in an office for so long. Rita has a deep affection and soft side for the pets that visit the surgery and is often seen talking to the animals as if they were her own. She has a pet cat called Kizzie and is considering a French Bulldog one day.
Becky joined our reception team in December of 2013. She still says it was her dream job having loved animals all her life. Becky is a keen horse rider and has been since the age of 6 and shares her passion for animals with her daughter. In 2015 Rebecca became a part time kennel assistant, adding to her reception role.
Karen joined the surgery in July 2015 as a part time receptionist, she moved from London to Cardiff 12 years ago and loves it here. Karen has two lovely boys and enjoys going on long walks with her Springer Spaniel Phoebe. Karen loves puppies and would love to take them all home from the surgery.
