Bethan Davies
Clinical Director
GP CERT DI MRCVSBeth has been at the practice since 2009. She has been involved with the surgery long before joining as a veterinary employee; first seeing work experience and then an animal care assistant. Beth has travelled extensively, collecting wonderful memories from South East Asia and Australia, including a visit to one Mr R Crowe’s farm. Beth has a keen interest in further imaging and in 2015 passed her GP post graduate certificate in diagnostic imaging.

Claire Masling-Jones
Clinical Director
GPCertSAS MRCVSClaire joined the team in 2005 and has been with us ever since, becoming clinical director in 2010. She completed a postgraduate certificate in small animal surgery in 2011, and is keen to be able to offer a range of services to our clients without the need for referral. Outside work, she is kept busy with her very active springer spaniel Stanley, and her equally energetic daughters Georgia and Hallie.

Branwen Davis
Vet
GPCert SAM MRCVSBranwen is a Welsh speaking vet who joined the team in 2014. She gained her ESPVS General Practice Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2005 and has a keen interest in cardiology, internal medicine and all things feline. At home she has three cats – Martyn Williams, Mike Catt and Sili Sparecat. She is a passionate Welsh rugby supporter as well as being a keen cyclist.

Katrina Cordell
Vet
MRCVSKatrina has been working in small animal practice since graduating from Bristol University in 2011, and joined the St David team in 2021. She is particularly interested in treating joint disease in cats and dogs. At home she has a Staffie called Billy, rescued at a practice where she was locumming. Outside work she is an avid gardener, and also loves to cook and bake.

Ashleigh Glover
Vet
MRCVSAshleigh graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2018. She joined the team in April 2022. She has an interest in surgery. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and visiting new places.

Kim Dreyer
Vet
MRCVSKim graduated from the University of Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She is from South Africa and moved over to the UK with her family when she was little. Kim has a keen interest in opthalmology, surgery and diagnostic imaging and has plans to gain further qualifications soon. In her spare time, Kim enjoys skiing, cycling along the Taff Trail and walks with her 2 dogs, Steffi and Treacle.

Jemima Pope
Vet
MRCVSJemima graduated from University of Nottingham in 2021 then worked at a small animal hospital for 2 years before joining St David’s in 2023. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice including medical cases and surgery. In her spare time she enjoys running, baking and looking after her pets including her cat Merlin, her rabbits John and Shirley and her tortoise Terry.

Maneka Dissanayake
Vet
MRCVSManeka graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 2023. Prior to this, she worked in the field of Agriculture as a research officer at La Trobe University and has collaborated with the Australian government and leading R&D cooperations.
Having won the coveted prize for Epidemiology in her year, Maneka has a keen interest in research, small animal surgery, and emergency care. Being a former national diver, in her spare time, she enjoys aquatic sports, travelling and cooking for family & friends. But her true passion lies in micro-managing her wonderful hubby and taking long naps.

Sion Rowlands

MRCVSSion is a Welsh speaking vet who joined the team in 2005, having already picked up experience in practices around the UK, as well as Australia and Zimbabwe – where he made claim to the title as the only vet in Wales to have applied sun tan ointment to an elephant! Outside work he is passionate about adventure sports.

Clare Hunt
Lead Nurse
RVNClare is the Lead Nurse of St. David’s Llanishen branch. She first saw practice with Menna Morgan in 2000. She fell in love with nursing from this moment. Throughout her career she has branched out in different aspects of pet welfare, earning qualifications such as pet shop management, post nursing canine/feline behaviour, schedule 3 nursing surgery and a HND in animal science. Her passion within St. David’s is to create a practice of gold standard services and care for all patients, including fear free and positive visits with your beloved pets.
Life can be very busy outside of work too, spending time with her Husband, 3 children and her crazy working cocker Dave! She has a love for weightlifting, this comes in handy in practice, you may often hear a vet ask for Clare to come and cuddle your dog.

Sharon Masling-Jones
Lead Nurse
RVNSharon wanted to be a veterinary nurse for as long as she can remember, and has a particular soft spot for old Labradors, which inspired her to gain a qualification in rehabilitation. She qualified as an RVN in 2008 and joined the team in the same year. In her spare time she enjoys running with her springer spaniel, Stanley, and going on adventures with her wife and daughters.

Charlotte Rowsell
Nursing Team
SVNCharlotte joined the team in 2020 and thoroughly enjoys the job, finding it very rewarding and aiming to become a veterinary nurse. She is very much into fitness, so outside work you’re likely to find her in the gym. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Claire Osborne
Nursing Team
SVNClare joined the team in 2014, having previously worked for nearly 10 years at the Bridge Veterinary Centre. She is a big fan of giant dog breeds and in addition to looking after her own pets is rushed off her feet with twin daughters.

Georgia Lewis
Nursing Team
SVNGeorgia studied Animal Nursing HE in 2018. She then joined St-Davids as an ANA in 2021. In 2023, Georgia started the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Georgia has always wanted a career in nursing and is hoping to join the RVN team in 2025 when she is due to graduate. In her spare time, Georgia enjoys spending time with her pet ferret named Ziggy and her two cats, Izzy and Bear.

Jenny Edmunds
Nursing Team
RVNJen joined the team in 2015, having started in the industry as a kennel assistant in 2011, and gaining her RVN qualifications two years later. She is particularly interested in canine behaviour, medical nursing and anything involving hygiene and infection control. At home she has two Staffies and two spur-thighed tortoises, all of which are rescues.

Kelly Thomas
Nursing Team
SENIOR ANAKelly joined the team in 2015, and has been working in the veterinary industry since 2000. She loves being part of a fantastic team who always strive to be the best they can be, and is particularly interested in weight management. At home she’s kept busy with three children and two dogs, Sky, an old Alaskan Malamute and Alfie, an old Staffie, as well as helping her husband run his sports business.

Lisa Crowley
Nursing Team
RVNLisa completed a degree in equine science in 2013, and qualified as an RVN in 2017. Before joining St David she worked with various animal wildlife charities in Asia, Australia, Fiji and New Zealand for six months. She loves to see poorly patients becoming happy and healthy! Outside work she enjoys riding her horse and exploring outdoors with her partner and pets.

RVNCharlotte joined the practice in 2015, having qualified in 2009, and gaining experience in emergency practice, in which she has additional qualifications, as well as with exotic species. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, two dogs, Rita and Captain William, and Harold the cat.

Ellie Hurved

RVNEllie graduated from the university of South Wales as a veterinary nurse in June 2023, having joined us shortly before. At home she has an 8yr old Lhasapoo called Percy and a 2yr old hamster called Ivy. Most of Ellie’s spare time is spent reading a variety of fantasy books, curled up in a comfy spot with her hamster.

RVNClaudia graduated as a vet nurse in July 2021 after studying at University in Carmarthen. She likes all aspects of nursing but her main passion is in anaesthetics. She love all animals and have always had them growing up.

Jessica Smith
Nursing Team
RVNJessica joined the team late this year after doing her training at a veterinary hospital before seeking a new challenge at St Davids! She has just qualified as an RVN and loved every minute of her training. Her main interests are clinics, behaviour but also she loves getting her teeth stuck into a good medical nursing case! When she is not at work you can find her hanging out with her rescue lurcher Lola wandering the various countryside walks of Wales.

Melissa Hookham

RVNMelissa graduated in 2020, with a Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing. She has a dog called ‘snowy’ who is her best friend, along with two budgerigars. She enjoys inpatient care, along with anaesthesia and ECC. She hopes to obtain a certificate in either of these one day. In Melissa’s spare time she figure skates in Cardiff, paints, or makes crystal jewelry. She also enjoys going on beach walks with her dog.

ANAPaige joined the team in 2021 and has three dogs, a miniature dachshund, a border collie and a golden retriever – they are her little team! She loves the outdoors, big adventures and travelling around in her motorhome.

ANAMichelle joined the team in 2019, initially on reception before joining the nursing team in 2021. At home she has a Labrador cross called Toby, who loves to go on adventures. In her free time she enjoys listening to music, spending time with her partner and friends, and catching up on the latest movies and TV shows.

Leanne Brown

PRACTICE MANAGERLeanne became our practice manager in 2015, having joined the team in 2008. While she already has Charley the Labrador and Shadow the cat at home, there is always the risk of many more as she struggles not to take home every new puppy that visits the surgery!

Karen Starling

HEAD RECEPTIONISTKaren joined the team in 2015 and loves every part of her job. She moved to Cardiff from London in 2003 and hasn’t looked back since. At home she has a beautiful springer spaniel, Phoebe, who she enjoys taking for long walks. She particularly loves large breed dogs – beautiful gentle giants. Karen has recently taken on the responsibility of Head Receptionist, she is enjoying the position and feels her team of receptionist go above and beyond for St David Vets.

RECEPTIONISTJohn has been with St David since 2019 and has a keen interest in football, spending most of his weekends in the cold and rain watching Cardiff City. He’s a big dog lover having grown up with Labradors.

Llewella Samons

RECEPTIONISTLlewella has a keen interest in all things animal and has been volunteering since she was six years old, including with the RSPCA in South Africa, and currently at a cat rescue centre. She loves every aspect of her role in our practice! She spends her free time adventuring with her two dogs, pottering around with her chickens, or looking after her horse.

RECEPTIONISTMolly started on reception in June 2022. At home she has two French Bulldogs called Rosie and Hugo. In her spare time she enjoys socialising with friends and family, going out for food and going to music festivals/concerts.

RECEPTIONISTJane joined the team in 2021, having been a client here since 2006 with her beautiful springers, Roxy and Evie. She has a busy family life with her husband, four grown up sons and two new pups Lily and Maisie! In any spare time she has she loves watching rugby, festivals – both food and music! – socialising and long, muddy walks.
